Description
To perform professional technical work which is specific in nature and requires knowledge and application of basic optical engineering principles, theories and concepts to complete assignments under direct technical supervision.

1. Support the Product Design Team
   • Support senior engineering personnel in the development, testing and selection of basic optical components utilizing fundamental optical engineering principles, theories and techniques.
   • Assist in the design and development of specific optical modules or components to meet specified design requirements.
   • Assist in the design and development of measurement setups and procedures to verify optical performance
   • Receive close direction and instruction from senior engineering staff.


2. Perform Optical Analyses
   • Obtain working knowledge of company standard analysis tools.
   • Perform basic analyses of optical systems.
   • Compile data for investigation by senior optical engineering personnel.


3. Support Verification/Validation of Design
   • Support the assembly, alignment and testing of design hardware.
   • Assist in the design and assembly of prototype hardware.
   • Support the testing of hardware.


4. Prepare Documentation
   • Generate and review the technical content of drawings, engineering specifications, reports and other documentation associated with the optical design.


5. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
   Required Skills:
   Currently enrolled in an optical engineering bachelors or masters engineering program or a related discipline GPA 3.0 or higher

6. Experience with basic optical component interferometry measurements and optical system alignment and measurements - Good oral and written communication skills - Experience with Matlab - Code V or Zemax experience
